For The Love Of Books!

Reading, in today's day and age, is becoming a dying art. Hardly any youths care for the act of reading books, rather preoccupied with movies and video games. So the profession of writing is starting to become constricted. As a writer, the market for becoming famous is very confined to those who have repeatedly shown results and sales. Starting out this is not easy by any means, especially for young authors. My entire life has been about writing and the love of books. That's a twenty year old affair with stories, not very much experience in many people's opinions. So how could a publishing company take a risk on a person who has yet to experience many things in life? Clearly their work cannot be good, they are so young! Believe me, I have heard it all. And I'm not even the youngest author! Within my own close group of young writers, there are writers who are only 13 years old! THAT is young. But I still remained fascinated by the love of writing these young authors have for creating a world that is completely their own; I understand it. Video games and movies have done the same illusion as us, writers, seek to do: make a whole new world. Still my surprise remains with how much support video gamers have found yet young writers are constantly criticized for being too immature to create such a great work! Do we not seek to obtain the same goal?

What I have to say to young writers, or old, searching for support is this:

DO NOT stifle your creations because of those who do not understand your passion. 

DO NOT become blinded by greed, if you are offered a contract by a publishing company.

DO NOT forget why you write.

DO NOT let anyone stop your dream, parent or publishing company.

DO NOT lose sight of what you are trying to attain.
